Love Has Good Manners

Sitting at the kitchen table as my two year old grand daughter was eating her lunch, I began to read to her from a devotional. The title of it was, "The Language of Love" Of course I condensed it to her level saying, "Did you know Love has good manners? Jesus wants us to use good manners as we talk to people. When your mommy and daddy asks you to do something you would reply, Yes mamm or Yes sir. Or when someone gives you something you would say, "Thank You" or when someone tells you thank you, you would reply "Your Welcome." Another good word is "Please" as you ask for something. She looked at me as she bowed her head and closed her hands together and said, "Jesus loves mommy, daddy and my baby brother, AMEN." She raised her head and smiled. As she was looking at me with that sweet innocent look, she lowered her head again and said, "Jesus loves grandma and grandpa, AMEN." Tears began to flow as I heard from the heart of a two year old. As you begin today, remember Love has good manners. Jesus was not rude. Try saying "Please" "Thank You" "Your Welcome" etc., you won't regret it! "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails... And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a,13(NIV)

God is Faithful!

As I am preparing for today, opening up Scripture to Psalms 77 which I titled: "Recommit Yourself then follow by Faith" Beginning in verse 7 through verse 12 it reads: "Will the Lord reject forever? Will he never show his favor again? Has his unfailing love vanished forever? Has his promise failed for all time? Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?” Then I thought, “To this I will appeal: YES! I will remember the deeds of the Lord; YES!, I will remember your miracles of long ago. YES! I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.” God You are Faithful! Though your footprints were not seen, You led your people like a flock ... God is Faithful - Walk by Faith, allowing God to lead.

Obedience with Expedience!

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father the Lord Jesus Christ." Gal 1:3a What an awesome group of ladies to work with during our trip to Kibera, Kenya. We worked at Project Biashara (A ministry where woman there make jewelry and you can purchase Project Biashara online - http://projectbiashara.com/ Please visit the website - to help a woman is to help her family.) I have learned so much from being a part of this Great Ministry! As in Matthew 9:11-13, "The Pharisees asked, "Why is your teacher Jesus eating with the tax collectors and sinners?" But when Jesus heard this, He said, "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick. But go and learn what this means = "Desire Compassion and not sacrifice." Our team traveled across the world because God placed a desire in our hearts for compassion for the lost and for the ones in need. In John 2 it is the account of Jesus at the wedding in Cana of Galilee. Remember, at the wedding .... the servants told Jesus there was "no wine" so He replied, "to fill the six water pots that were each 20 to 30 gallons, fill them with water. So, "the servants filled them to the brim." I Love this part because the servants did not fill the water pots 1/2 way, nor did they fill them 3/4 of the way to the top. They did not even fill them almost to the top ... They were Obedient with Expedience and filled to the brim! Being obedient with expedience is a choice! My prayer daily is to be obedient to God's instructions and I pray for my family and friends that they too will be obedient to God's calling. In Romans 16:19-20, it states = "For the report of your Obedience (traveling all the way across the world)has reached all: Therefore I am REJOICING OVER YOU! What a great group of ladies!!!
In Conclusion lets read Matthew 16:24- Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself and "take up his cross and follow Me." Thank you Jesus for allowing this great group of ladies to travel together across the world to be a living proof, of a loving God to a watching world. Amen.
PS - Had to make sure Emily was included in the photo .... she took great photos!
