Love Has Good Manners
Sitting at the kitchen table as my two year old grand daughter was eating her lunch, I began to read to her from a devotional. The title of it was, "The Language of Love" Of course I condensed it to her level saying, "Did you know Love has good manners? Jesus wants us to use good manners as we talk to people. When your mommy and daddy asks you to do something you would reply, Yes mamm or Yes sir. Or when someone gives you something you would say, "Thank You" or when someone tells you thank you, you would reply "Your Welcome." Another good word is "Please" as you ask for something. She looked at me as she bowed her head and closed her hands together and said, "Jesus loves mommy, daddy and my baby brother, AMEN." She raised her head and smiled. As she was looking at me with that sweet innocent look, she lowered her head again and said, "Jesus loves grandma and grandpa, AMEN." Tears began to flow as I heard from the heart of a two year old.
As you begin today, remember Love has good manners. Jesus was not rude. Try saying "Please" "Thank You" "Your Welcome" etc., you won't regret it!
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails... And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a,13(NIV)
